I HAVE NEVER FELT SO SEEN! Yes, Andrew, I remember the horrors of wearing a backpack on one shoulder one lest you be labeled a pathetic LOSER for all of eternity! I think of it every time I sling TWO backpack straps across my back and think, "Wow. This is so comfortable and easy to carry." Brilliant observations as usual!

Same, but I still look around every time I slide that second strap on to make sure nobody cool is looking.

"Staying upright used to be an accomplishment." Laughed so hard about the backpack straps; thank you for painting a wonderful picture of our childhoods!

No one should wear crocs. Ever.

Now, house crocs are a work-from-home parent thing, are they not? Costco duped me into a pair many moons back and I justified wearing the atrocities because it was such a deal and they felt like an airy hug. One time, I unknowingly wore them outside my door and they were subsequently shoved away to some crevice I have yet to find. Boundaries are important!

yeah I've never let myself travel down that road but I'm relieved you were able to pull back from the abyss

Too true! I cannot believe how long I waited to wear socks--I still have blister scars on the backs of my heels. And my left shoulder droops inches below the right from misguided attempts at being cool. I also draw the line at Crocs but, yes, good for these youngsters!

They may be smarter but our pain tolerance was elite.

Loved this piece. Lots of positive changes but crocs? Oh man you’ll never catch me in them!

I so relate!

When my kid was in high school he thrifted a jacket from GAP that he loved.

I panicked and screeched, “THAT’s A WOMEN’S JACKET!”

He shrugged. “So?”

I realized I wasn’t panicking because of gender identity, but because of all the boys I knew growing who were mocked for looking or acting like a girl, or for wearing pink, or something like that.

I didn’t want him to get teased, but kids don’t get teased for that anymore. At least not here.

Mate crocs are the actual best, but I only wear them in the garden or on dog walks - I would wear them ‘out’

Even when I was younger I just never for the boxer shorts ‘low’ slung jeans look on boys - was / is awful. One of my mates still dresses like that - he’s 42. It’s totally inappropriate 😂
